COVID JOURNAL - JAN 1st 2022
COVID JOURNAL JAN 1st 2022
DAY - 01
Today is day 1 of 365 days in the year 2022. Happy New Year.
I woke up with a blocked nose and acute pain in my shoulder. It was a cold winter morning, as usual. So, I had a cold morning to blame for my nose block and body pains.
Got fresher up I had my morning dose of black coffee and a typical South Indian breakfast of ghee dosa. Later, I took self-prescribed medicine DOLO 650, which kicked in and sent me to bed, but my mother woke me up and asked me to get an RTPCR test because she was concerned about my cold. 100% confidence of getting a negative result, I got my test done. So, the diagnostic centre receptionist informed me that I could expect the result in 24 hrs. I said OK and I left the centre.
On the same day, I was getting tired of being in the same room for three days, so I called a friend and asked him to join me for coffee at a newly opened cafe nearby, and he came and picked me up in his car. wanted to make a quick stop before going to the cafe, so I waited outside. That is when I received a text on my number about my report that was due. I clicked on the link in the text and discovered that I had tested positive for COVID.
The first thing that came into my head was that I was with my friend who was visiting his pregnant wife the next morning. So I called him and told him I had been tested COVID positive and would leave from here in an OLA auto. You get your car sanitised and get the RTPCR test tomorrow. I reached home around 6:45 in the evening and told Mom that the result had come out and it was positive. I guess for the first time in my life when I gave a positive update, they felt bad because of the irony.
I self-quarantined myself later that evening. I was in a dilemma about visiting a doctor as it needed my physical presence and I may have put a lot of lives in jeopardy. Then my not-so tech-savvy dad told me about the online consultation app. So immediately, I pulled my phone out and installed the PRACTO APP, and consulted with a doctor who was sitting in Nashik, Maharastra, treating a patient from Hyderabad, Telangana. The consultation is done and I got the prescription for medicine. So how to get medicines? I can't go to the chemist, so I installed another app, MEDPLUS App, and ordered online.
So I received expert advice from a doctor on Practo and medicine from MEDPLUS. Both were just a click away. which made me think staying home isn’t really a bad thing when everything is just a click away. All I need to do is put myself into a routine so I can do this COVID JOURNAL and keep my ass moving to avoid COVID weight. That was my Jan. 1, 2022.
